Bullhead City, AZ – The Laughlin Bullhead Airshow is excited to announce that the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation’s P-51 Mustang and accomplished pilot Steven Hinton will be joining its lineup of performers for the event on April 1st, 2023. The Heritage Flight will feature modern fighter and attack aircraft flying alongside the iconic World War II, Korea, and Vietnam-era planes, providing a stunning display of our nation’s air power history.
The P-51 Mustang, a legendary single-seat fighter plane that dominated the skies over Western Europe during World War II, will be flown by skilled pilot Steven Hinton, who holds seven Reno Air Races Unlimited Gold Champion titles and currently holds the World Speed Record for Piston Powered Aircraft over 3km at 531 MPH. Hinton is both single and multi-engine rated and has authorization to fly numerous aircraft, including the P-51, P-40, P-47, F6F, F8F, F4U, ME-109, Yak 3, Yak 9, Yak 11, and Spitfires.

The P-51 Mustang is part of the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California, and wears the data plate of “The Red Baron,” the World Speed Record holder in 1979. Its paint scheme and name honor 1st Lt. Calvert L. Williams’ P-51 Mustang.
